New Mission High School - 2021 EdVestors School on the Move Finalist

Located in Hyde Park, New Mission is a smaller Boston Public high school with a population of 470 students, serving a majority Black and Latinx student population. In 2018 New Mission expanded to include grades 7 and 8 and will continue to expand seats in those grades through the next few years. Each fall, the EdVestors School on the Move Prize recognizes one of the most improving Boston Public Schools. Acknowledging the tremendous effort needed to ensure every student in Boston receives a world-class education, we seek to shine a light on those schools, leaders, and teachers who create and continuously improve learning environments where all students thrive, demonstrated through significantly improved outcomes for students. By sharing the stories of how schools improve, we hope to help more schools make significant progress for their students. The School on the Move Prize comes with a $100,000 award from EdVestors, public recognition, and the opportunity for the winning school to document and share replicable strategies.
