Thanks to Aaron 3-B for the idea for this level and suggesting the music, and to George Bradley for recolouring the tileset. Just like 9-2, the old 2-FT was just awful; there were Bullet Bills and projectiles EVERYWHERE and it was WAY too hard for World 2. Hopefully though, this is a huge improvement. I think it definitely has the old version beaten in terms of graphics: thanks to George Bradley, it now fits in with the overall colour of World 2 (violet/purple), and no longer just looks like some generic tech fortress level. This level has two gimmicks: the first is lasers that turn on and off periodically. There's actually somewhat of a story behind this gimmick: years ago, I had plans to make a hack of Sonic 1 that replaced Scrap Brain with a new level called "Optic Base Zone", which was going to have lasers like this. I never even started that hack, but I thought I'd let the laser gimmick see the light of day through this level. I didn't really feel like there was all that much I could do with these lasers, so they're only around for about half of the level. The rest of the level has security lasers (red lines) that trigger Rinkas when you touch them, inspired by both Boomer Kuwanger's stage from Mega Man X, and, as you can hear, Metal Gear Solid. I had quite a bit of trouble designing this section, and originally I was only going to use moving security lasers, but I think it turned out alright with some stationary vertical lasers you need to jump over. The last section before the boss (the one with the computer) also introduces Amps, but they're not around for long here. This part is the closest I'll get to redesigning the reactor panel areas from 2-WB (I'll get rid of those for the redesign); as you can tell, the security computer is just an edit of the reactor from 2-WB. Then there's the boss, and I still don't think it's that great, but to be honest, I don't really know what I could do with it. I tried to keep things a bit more challenging with the conveyor belt, but I don't really think it changes much. There's also a bug at the end where the conveyor belts are supposed to stop switching direction, but instead both directions appear at once and make it look like you're shaking. I'll probably just keep the directions changing after you beat Bowser Jr. Do leave a comment if there's anything you want to say. If you don't like this level, don't be afraid to say it. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
