This video demonstrates using AsTeRICS Grid, a speech generating web app, to control a Google Chrome web browser that has the Handsfree for Web - Voice Control extension installed. Computers talk to each other all the time, but here we see AsTeRICS Grid use text-to-speech to actually talk to and control Handsfree for Web in another browser window. Of course, you could use a separate speech generating device to accomplish the same. It is amazes that I had text-to-speech and speech-to-text running while video capturing the screen and mic. Somehow it all worked fairly well. There are some issues with the text-to-speech voice I used. Frequently when AsTeRICS Grid said, "click", Handsfree would hear it as ,"play". Usually after repeated attempts "click" would be finally understood correctly. Also, sometimes one syllable numbers would not be recognized.
