These "Top 10 Pokemon..." videos are a series of videos dedicated to the talented composers at Game Freak. The main thing I wanted to do with these videos is compare the composers (Who's your favorite one?), see similarities between them, show how much Pokemon music has evolved/improved over the years, and have an easy way to listen to my favorite tunes from these games. Morikazu Aoki is finally able to compose for an entire Pokemon soundtrack! Unfortunately this would be his last time doing so, because he quit right after Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire was released. I don't think anyone has given a reason as to why he left after Ruby/Sapphire, but that is indeed what happened. I'm honestly not sure if his leaving was a good or bad thing; it was a good thing because we got an awesome replacement out of it (Spoiler: Hitomi Sato), but it was bad because Aoki was still a pretty good composer. Anyway, Aoki brings us a different style of composition for this game. His previous compositions in Pokemon Crystal were all fast-paced and catchy, but their isn't much of that in Ruby/Sapphire. Perhaps it's because city/dungeon themes don't really call for that kind of composition like character themes do, but overall his send off for the series is still an enjoyable one. 10.
