So any vaginal white discharge, the first thing to rule out is any infection. So any vaginal or vulval infection at the mouth of the womb and appropriate antibiotics given. If the antibiotics dont work and then persistent white discharge, then other causes can be there. There can be small ulcer at the cervix, that is the mouth of the womb. So this ulcer continuously goes and irritates and discharges this white discharge. This may come from the raw edges of the cervix or any ulcer in the vaginal region. For the cervical ulcers or ectropion as it is called, you can actually burn them or cold wax them to decrease the white discharge. If everything is there and examining there is no local factors, no polyps, no ulcers, no grows, no ectropion or nothing, then I can be just hormonal. When there is very low BMI also there is excessive white discharge. So improve on the BMI of the patient if it is low. Last thing is hormonal. If it is troubling her too much, then counsel her and then put her on one or few cycles of hormones and it gets corrected.
