Hi, welcome to Deaf Talks News. In India all the schools and colleges come under the ministry of education. In that UGC is the department responsible for universities and higher education. UGC makes rules, gives recognition, and funds universities. If UGC makes any new rules all over Indian universities must follow these rules. Recently, UGC made new rules for all the universities in India. Every university must set up a committee to handle complaints about caste discrimination. Students or staff can complain about caste discrimination in online, by phone, or in writing to that committee. Universities must act quickly to solve problems. Students from SC, ST, OBC categories are protected from discrimination. If a university ignores complaints, there will be penalties. This new rule was a good initiative to save SC/ST Students. But then few people took this to the Supreme Court saying this is only to support SC/ST students, what about others ? Supreme Court judges after discussion ordered them to hold these new rules. The Central Government and UGC must file a detailed reply. The next hearing is scheduled for March 19. You know what in Central universities like IIT, IIM, etc still SC/ST students are being bullied by others. Even many students are suiciding. Caste is very bad for India. We shouldn't look for it. @vishalbhartideaf4957 Thanks for asking this topic to be explained. I hope you understand this.
