When life punches you in the face, you stop planning and start reflecting. They say life is what happens while you’re making other plans. On Tuesday the 6th of January, I was supposed to be "back to the grind." Instead, I found myself in the cold Ipswich air, reflecting on a whirlwind of change, loss, and the strange symmetry of life. In this second "Not Done Yet!" walk and talk, I'm channelling my inner Ronnie Corbett. It’s a bit of a meandering monologue about the reality of being part of that "sandwich generation"—or as I’ve recently discovered, the "open sandwich" generation. In this video, I share thoughts on: • The Loss of my Mother: Reflecting on her "long innings" and the strange task of creating her funeral order of service. • Full Circle Moments: How my sister and I have ended up living together again, decades after we first started out in Essex. • The Mike Tyson Philosophy: Why having a plan is great, until life decides otherwise. • The Digital/Analog Bridge: Why I’m using this channel as a cathartic video diary for the "Not Done Yet" years. Whether you're dealing with grief, a late-life career shift, or just trying to make sense of the 50s and 60s, I hope there’s something here that resonates. As a Knack developer by trade, I usually talk tech, but today is about the human side of the code. Connect with me: If this resonated with you, please do leave a comment. I’m finding these conversations incredibly helpful as I navigate this new chapter.
