We go underground and get to the cold heart of Umbrella's true nightmare, to end this mission once and for all! With tense exploration, key item management and iconic atmosphere, we close the chapter on this remastered version of Capcom’s legendary remake. I’ll be honest — I’ve only played this version a handful of times. I grew up with the 1996 Resident Evil, and when the remake arrived less than a decade later, it didn’t land with me at all. The changes felt too sharp, too unfamiliar, and at the time unnecessary. It broke my connection to something I knew and loved inside out, and that put me off revisiting the game for more than a decade. Over the years, though, my view of the game has softened, and this runthrough reminded me why survival horror works best when it’s slow, tense, and unforgiving. This playthrough leans into that philosophy, focusing on careful exploration, resource management, and atmosphere over speed.
