KEEPSAKE– Recipes and Their Stories From Women Living in Ankara

Eating is a universally practiced act which brings people together. Cooking is the act of sharing personal, social and also cultural experience that is passed down from generation to generation. People from different cultures and geographies came together with the social cohesion activities held at Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM) Ankara Community Center. Women living in various neighborhoods of the same city placed their kitchen stories at the heart of the works performed. These efforts evolved into a series of workshops through the guidance provided by the Digital Storytelling Workshop of the Hacettepe University Faculty of Communication and resulted in the creation of the book “Keepsake”.
