Jan Bewersdorf, MD, Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, discusses the preliminary results of a Phase I study (NCT05714072) investigating the combination of ruxolitinib and the CDK4/6 inhibitor abemaciclib in previously treated patients with advanced myelofibrosis (MF) with persistent manifestation of disease (symptom burden or residual splenomegaly). Dr Bewersdorf notes that the combination was well tolerated, with encouraging objective evidence of efficacy, and will be further assessed in a Phase II trial.
