The RMIT College of Design and Social Context marked International Women's Day 2026 and its theme 'Balancing the Scales', with a powerful panel of gender equity advocates asking: Why are we still talking about gender equality? Hosted by Sushi Das – award-winning journalist, author, fact-checker and lecturer at RMIT's Information Integrity Hub, with Dr Niki Vincent – Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner, Professor Kathryn Daley – Assistant Associate Dean of Social Science, Research and Policy Studies, RMIT, Dr Leonora Risse – Gender Equality Economist and Associate Professor in Economics (QUT), and Hannah Ferguson – Author, journalist, podcaster, and CEO of Cheek Media. This event was part of Provocations – the College’s flagship Talks and Ideas series, which brings together leading experts, academics, and innovators to share ideas informing positive change.
