Installed a Lippert solid step (part number 791572) on a Jayco Eagle HT with a gas strut on the door bottom. I made this video only because I was told by a rep at Lippert, this step would not work if I have a gas strut. Obviously the guy was in error. All you have to do is the very quick extra step of disconnecting the gas strut temporarily and opening the door further than normal, to deploy or stow the step. Since then, I have added a Lippert hand rail. Because the door is limited on how far it will open by the gas strut, I felt that there was not a lot of room going up or down the stairs between the hand rail and door. I readjusted the step & handrail, moving it all a couple of inches towards the rear of the trailer. A quick readjustment of the latches was really all that was required. There is now more room going up & down the stairs. And the step still goes up & down as before. FWIW, the music was the radio station playing while I installed the step. Was not some sort of attempt at a musical sound track or anything like that.
