Webinar: Inequities in health and health systems in Latin America and the Caribbean

This webinar discussed health policy and systems research drawing from the journal supplement Inequities in health and health systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. The supplement, launched in November 2020, features 15 articles from the region touching on themes of governance and accountability, health access and impacts on vulnerable and marginalized populations, health financing, and health service delivery and planning. This webinar showcased research from the supplement including sexual and reproductive health services for transgender people in Colombia, social exclusion and universal health coverage in Guatemala and Peru, and a comparative study of equity in conditional cash transfers in four countries. Speakers drew attention to the lessons emerging from the region on pro-equity policies that can strengthen national health systems and improve access to quality health services for the underserved.
