You're working out consistently, making gains, and then all of a sudden you start losing strength! Don't freak out, it's normal... When this happens most people start to freak out and get frustrated. But you need to realize that this is just a normal part of the muscle building process. You can't keep gaining non-stop forever. Everyone is going to have ups and downs with their progress in the gym. When you hit a plateau like this and your strength starts to go down, it's a sign that you need to back off your training intensity and do what's known as a "Deload Phase". Deloading doesn't mean that you stop working out entirely, you just do easier workouts. So lighten up the weights, back off on the volume, and go through the motions with easy workouts for a couple weeks in order to allow your body and central nervous system to recover from the stress of heavy training and build up its energy reserves. By taking the time to deload when you need it, you can actually make better strength and muscle gains over the long term. If you need help with planning out your workout training cycle and busting past plateaus, then this is something that I can help you with through the Total Fitness Bodybuilding "Inner Circle" Coaching Club. As a member of the Inner Circle you'll get access to my very best training programs for building muscle, losing fat, and gaining strength.
