DIY Bamboo Wood Kitchen Countertop Sanding and Finishing Tutorial Step 1: Introduction Welcome to my DIY youtube channel Today we are sanding and finishing bamboo wood kitchen countertops with a light touch using 120 grit sandpaper and Junkers Rustic Wood Oil. Step 2: Gather Materials The bamboo wood kitchen countertops 120 grit sandpaper Junkers Rustic Wood Oil Damp cloth Rubber gloves Step 3: Prepare the Workspace Clear off the kitchen countertops and ensure the area is well-ventilated. Lay down a protective covering over surrounding surfaces to catch any dust or oil spills. Step 4: Sanding Sand the bamboo wood countertops using 120 grit sandpaper. I am using a light touch to avoid damaging the surface. Work in small sections, moving the sandpaper with the woodgrain until the surface is smooth to the touch and the marks are gone. Step 5: Cleaning After sanding, use a clean, damp cloth to wipe away any dust and debris from the countertops. Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before proceeding to the next step. Step 6: Applying Junkers Rustic Wood Oil Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands from the oil. Shake the Junkers Rustic Wood Oil can. Using a clean cloth apply the first coat of oil evenly onto the sanded bamboo wood countertops. Allow the oil to penetrate the wood and leave until dry. Step 7: Second Coat of Oil Apply a second coat of Junkers Rustic Wood Oil in the same manner as the first coat. Ensure thorough coverage of the entire surface area. Step 8: Finishing Touches Allow the second coat of oil to dry completely. Once dry, admire the newly finished bamboo wood kitchen countertops. Clean up any spills or drips, and remove the protective covering from the surrounding surfaces.
