#dudhpokhari #lamjung #pokharatomanang Welcome to the second section of this trek. On this part, we bid goodbye to the beautiful villages of Lamjung and head to the wilderness. We hike through pristine forests and beautiful grasslands of North Lamjung, away from the villages and camping for days until we reach Timang, Manang. On our way, we come across beautiful meadows of Taprang, Layamro, Thulek and Thurju. Unfortunately, we can’t visit Khwolasothar which was our original plan and the highlight of this trek. Luckily, we have visited this ancient site of the Gurung Community in the past. We see Thulek on a clear day for the first time ever on our third visit. After Thulek, we cross Chimre Deurali and descend towards Thurju after Thurju Deurali. Thurju is a huge meadow where pilgrims stay for the night before heading out to Dudhpokhari. It is also the grazing grounds of 5 different villages who bring their Bhedigoths in the area once a year. We stay for a couple of days in Thurju, visit the holy Dudhkunda and begin our journey to Manang. This is the most challenging day of our trek as we cross Namun La and descend to Timang which took longer than expected. And finally the journey concludes as we reach a village after living in the wild for almost a week.
