This video is for rowers (novice and beyond) looking to maximize rowing form If you are struggling with your sequencing on the rowing stroke (specifically getting your body and handle past the knees on the recovery) the drills in this video will ensure you are rowing properly, allowing you to take your most efficient and powerful rowing strokes, every time. In this video, Olympian and Coach, Luke Walton explains the number one issue novice powers face on the rowing machine, and the best drills to correct it. Coach Walton walks you through the body over pause drill (a go to drill for coaches when it comes to correcting issues on the recovery). He then speaks to his own favorite drill, the arms away pause (which addresses issues on the recovery even better than body over pause). These drills (together and on their own) will help you to have your most efficient recovery each stroke, and prevent you from running into issues between the rowing machine handle and your knees. Channel Note: These videos, taught by Olympian Luke Walton, can be valuable to anyone new to rowing, rowing with a team/club, anyone looking for rowing machine workouts, training for CrossFit or Hyrox competitions, or anyone who who just wants to understand how to row the “rower” (rowing machine) better.
