#75 - Pearl Colors on Top of Regular Colors Wrecked Puddle Pour

I did get some cracking when the paint dried. I think the Metallic Cobalt Blue had thickened while sitting. I ALWAYS do a drip test to check to see if all of my paints are the same consistency and they were. I'm not sure as to why I ended up with cracking, I did tilt off as much paint as I possibly could. If anyone has another reason as to why there was cracking, please let me know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wrecked Puddle Pour is when you pour distinct puddles of paint on a canvas, then intentionally disrupt or "wreck" them by manipulating the paint with tools like the end of a paintbrush, your finger, a dotting tool, a skewer, a comb, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those who are watching that are new or just didn't know, the Amsterdam Pearl paints (as well as other interference/brands) look white until they dry. They also show much better when used on a black or dark background. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today I am doing a Wrecked Puddle Pour using Artist's Loft, Liquitex and Amsterdam paints on an 8"x10" canvas by Artist's Loft. Please watch until the end of the video as the dry result is there. The colors I am using today are a Self-Mix Indigo, Metallic Cobalt Blue by Artist's Loft, Self-Mix Dark Green, Self-Mix Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta by Liquitex, Pearl Violet, Pearl Blue, Pearl Green, Pearl Yellow and Pearl Red all from Amsterdam. My base color is Oxide Black by Amsterdam. All of my paints are of the same consistency as consistency is IMPORTANT! My pouring medium today is Flood Floetrol and Artist's Loft Gloss Pouring Medium. My ratio is 2:1 (2 parts pouring medium to 1 part paint). All of the paint that gets tilted off or spun off of my canvases, vases, etc. gets scraped into a container and reused. I recycle the paint to use as a base color, flow extender or I will make a custom color from it.
