EP Desk, Bogong, Feb 10, 2026: A thanksgiving party in honour of newly elected Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) Shri Olom Moyong of Bogong-I was held at Rasam Village on Monday, drawing a large gathering of Minister of Rural Development, senior BJP leaders, former legislators, ZPC, GPC’s, party workers, village elders and members of the public. Addressing the programme, Rural Development Minister Shri Ojing Tasing underlined the importance of grassroots-level thinking for sustainable progress, stating that development is not possible unless there is a change in mindset at the local level. He said true transformation begins from villages and must be driven by sincerity, discipline and long-term vision. Minister Tasing expressed confidence in the leadership of ZPM Shri Olom Moyong, stating that the decision to award him the BJP ticket was a thoughtful one. He clarified that with elections now over, the event was purely a thanksgiving and guidance programme, and reiterated that the BJP fully stands behind the newly elected ZPM and will extend support in every situation. Highlighting the party’s ideology, Tasing said that Shri Olom Moyong carries forward the BJP’s manifesto and its commitment to inclusive governance, guided by the vision of “Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prakash.” He reminded that the people of Bogong-Bango area have entrusted Olom Moyong with a significant responsibility, which must be utilised honestly for the overall development of the region. Cautioning against challenges in public life, the minister advised the ZPM to remain humble, accessible and respectful to all sections of society. He urged him to plan for long-term village development and to closely follow the party’s training guidelines and organisational discipline. Former MLA cum State BJP President Shri Kaling Moyong also addressed the gathering, congratulating the newly elected ZPM and reminding him that leadership demands commitment and accountability. Recalling his own tenure, he highlighted developmental initiatives such as the establishment of VKV School in the area and stressed that a good leader must patiently listen to public concerns and respond sincerely. ZPM Shri Olom Moyong, in his address, assured that development within his jurisdiction would be carried out without discrimination, irrespective of political affiliations. He pledged to ensure equal benefits and development works for all villages and appealed to the public for cooperation, guidance and constructive suggestions.
