🎣 Hi guys, thanks for tuning in and welcome back to another lure build! Today I’m working on one of my favourite variations of my 3D printed soft plastic curly tail pike lure , using the iconic Sexy Shad pattern - this time combined with hot stamping foil . Most people know Sexy Shad as one of the most effective and beginner-friendly lure patterns , and for good reason: you don’t need many colours, yet you can still create a realistic and very effective fishing lure. In this video, I show: • How to properly prepare a 3D printed lure for hot stamping foil • What went wrong in my previous attempts - and how I fixed the bonding issue • The hot stamping + airbrushing workflow • A full Sexy Shad paint job on a 3D printed pike lure After some testing, I found the key issue was surface preparation. Once that was fixed, the hot stamping foil bonded cleanly and gave us a very bright, reflective finish*. It might be bold, but it catches sunlight extremely well - and I’m hoping it will perform great in *murky water conditions . If you stick around until the end, you’ll see the *final result under UV light*. I’m also planning a dedicated video in the coming weeks covering common hot stamping mistakes on 3D printed lures , because I know how frustrating this process can be and I’d like to save you some time and nerves. One more thing I’m excited to share: This 3D printed pike lure STL is in its final stages , and I’ll be uploading it to my Etsy store very soon. --- 🛠️ Want to make your own fishing lures?
