In this fourth lesson of the Blender modeling course, we complete the modeling of all structural panels of the cabinet and introduce several essential polygon modeling techniques used in professional 3D workflows. The lesson focuses on correctly closing horizontal and vertical panels, managing geometry cleanliness, and understanding the difference between Dissolve Edges and standard edge deletion. You will also learn how to create missing faces using edge loop selections and extrusion techniques, depending on the panel type. A key part of this lesson is dedicated to the verification and correction of face normals, a fundamental but often overlooked step that directly affects shading, lighting, and rendering quality. You will learn how to visually inspect normals using Blender’s Face Orientation tool and how to quickly fix incorrect orientations. By the end of this lesson, the cabinet model will be structurally complete, clean, and technically correct, ready for the next stages of detailing and rendering. Topics covered: Closing horizontal and vertical panels correctly Removing unnecessary loop cuts while preserving geometry Creating missing faces using edge selections Adding thickness to planar panels with extrusion Verifying and fixing face normals Using Face Orientation and Quick Favorites for faster checks In the next lesson, we will move on to modeling the side doors and central drawers of the cabinet.
