🤿 Snorkeling North Sulawesi 🤿. Pulau Bunaken. Fukui. Indonesia🇲🇨. April 2025 ☀️🪸🐙🐠🐟 Filmed with Canon G7X Mark 2, Gopro8 and Samsung S24 Ultra Bunaken National Park is a marine park in the north of Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. The park is located near the centre of the Coral Triangle, providing habitat to 390 species of coral as well as many fish, mollusks, reptiles and marine mammal species. The park is representative of Indonesian tropical water ecosystems, consisting of seagrass plains, coral reefs and coastal ecosystems. It was established as a national park in 1991 and is among the first of Indonesia's growing system of marine parks. It covers a total area of 890.65 km², 97% of which is marine habitat. The remaining 3% of the park is terrestrial, including the five islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain, and Siladen. The southern part of the Park covers part of the Tanjung Kelapa coast. Fukui is the only sloping reef in Bunaken; all other dive sites are wall dives. It's named after a Japanese diver who discovered the site many years ago. There are many beautiful coral gardens, as well as some artificial reef formations to help the area recover from past damage. There's usually no current, but it can become moderately strong, especially towards the corner where the cleaning station and reef corner are located. Here you can see giant clams, sea turtles, large barrel sponges, cabbages, garden eels, many different reef fish, blue rays, octopuses, nudibranchs, and more. Near the pinnacle and corner, there's a greater chance of seeing larger species swimming or being cleaned, such as eagle rays, giant barracuda, giant trevally, tuna, and others.
