R100GS PD Fork Slider Repair with Lumiweld

This video is about how I restored the top of my fork slider where some of the original aluminium had broken away. I ride year round on this machine and I think the road salt the authorities spread in winter had accumulated causing excessive corrosion, thus weakening the structure. Some might say build it up with weld. I don't have much experience in welding aluminium, neither do I have the kit and it was not worth paying to have it done. I could have machined the repair to get a better finish, but I wanted to show that it is possible to get a satisfactory repair with basic tools. And anyway, so long as I get a lasting repair, it does what it is supposed to do and looks reasonable, I am happy.
