Public Meeting held on the Foundation Day of our Sevashrama 1st June 2019, formally getting the Hospital projects inaugurated befittingly. On this holy occasion a gorgeous and glittering rainproof Pandal was erected in the Sevashrama premises and the occasion was graced by the presence of the His Holiness Srimat Swami Sivamayanandaji, the Vice President of the Order; Her Excellency Smt. Babi Rani Maurya, the Governor of the State, as Chief Guest; Swami Balabhadrananda (one of the Trustees), besides other Swamis of the Mission. After getting the concerned Projects inaugurated by the Revered Swamiji and the Governor, the function commenced with the scintillating music of the School students, compered adroitly by Swami Sarvalokananda, the Secretary of the Narendrapur Ashrama. The Sevashrama had earlier arranged speech and quiz competition in which students of about 20 local school participated with all enthusiasm and seriousness, rendering Swamiji’s world renowned speech in English and Hindi. Their eloquent and forceful speech instantly won over the hearts of the listeners and they got standing ovation. While on the day of the competition, these participants were served with sumptuous breakfast and lunch; on this evening they were rewarded by cash prize and Certificate of Appreciation by the Chief Guest. The cash prize consisted of Rs 15,000 , Rs 10,000 and Rs. 5000 were awarded to the school children who stood 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively in the quiz and speech competitions. Also Rs 1000 was given as consolation prize money in both the competitions. Welcoming the honoured Speakers and guests, Swami Sarvalokananda fondly remembered the days when he himself rendered his services continuously for 12 years in the Sevashrama and he still fondly remembers those days. In his introductory speech Sw. Nityasuddhananda, the Secretary of the Sevashrama, said that the new Project undertaken by the Sevashrama in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Swamiji spending Rs.12 Crores, will give the people of Hardwar and its neighbouring districts, modern medical facilities. He also expressed with gratitude and thanks to RVNL( Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) and Central Ministry of Culture for their financial support towards the upgraded facilities of the Sevashrama. Sw. Balbhaddrananda, a Trustee of the Ramakrishna Order, in his lecture full of erudition said that Swamiji gave a series of lectures at Chicago, in September 1893, which not only made India so famous but made Indians proud of its pristine history and culture. He read a paper on Hinduism at the Parliament on 19 September 1893, introducing Hinduism to the world, and spoke about religious intolerance and the need to end all forms of fanaticism. He emphasized that the aim of the Mission is to serve the human kind without making any discrimination. Rev. Vice President Maharaj, further elaborating what his predecessor had spoken, said that the Sevashrama is truly following the doctrine that serving the poor and ailing with full dedication is to truly worship the God in human form. In his soul stirring speech the Revered Maharaj told about the path-breaking services of the founder Swami Kalyanananda and Swami Nischyananda and their monumental work in the services to the poor and ailing humanity. The Chief Guest, Madam Baby Rani Maurya spoke highly of the Ramakrishna Mission’s work in the medical field as very commendable and emphasized that it should be followed by others. She added that Ramakrishna Mission hospital is a shrine of ailing humanity and reflection of true Indian culture. Further, she added that the Sannyasis of Ramakrishna Mission are serving the poor with a spirit of dedication and love and also for getting liberation from birth and death. Swamiji, she said, made India world famous by projecting its ancient history, culture and religion before the world. She profusely praised the selfless and inspiring work of the Mission’s Sannyasis, its Management and staff for the welfare of the poor and have-not’s. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks moved by Shri Ram Gopal Gupta, a Member of the local Managing Committee of the Sevashrama.
