Greenfield Valley Parkrun (POV) - The Run - Event 209 - 17/01/2026 My first run at this parkrun finishing in 27th place with a time of 29m15s. Another quieter event in Wales near Holywell featuring a moderate gradient on a former railway line. Terrain for majority is tarmac paths with a small section of trail. The course is an out and back course (downhill for the first half) with two small spurs which come off the main route to make up the 5k distance. At this time of year expect mud, leaves and puddles across the course making it slippy underfoot in places. Normal road running shoes are fine though for the course. Elevation was recorded at just over 321ft for the entire course. Note, there is free parking at the local Tesco car park for 3 hours (vacate by 11am), toilet facilities in the Tesco are available. There is a cafe at the visitors centre at the far end of the course, where there is also additional parking. There are plenty of trails off the main route to explore and ruins of Basingwerk Abbey if you want to extend your stay (charges may apply for the Abbey). Hope you enjoy the POV video.
