Sam used this team to reach Day 2 of the North American International Championships. Sandy Shocks has an interesting niche because it is a ground type that benefits from Protosynthesis. You can get a speed boost in the sun and the ground typing is great into Miraidon matchups. At the same time, you also outspeed base 100s like a Chi-Yu by 1 point so you're able to go first and potentially KO then. Grassy Seed Gholdengo & Rillaboom add another dimension to the squad, while Flutter Mane rounds out the team as another Protosynthesis Pokemon that can be aggressive in the sun and give speed control with Icy Wind.
