On route from Indonesia to Darwin, Australia this Tayana 37 ran into problems and the decision was made to abandon ship. The 2 crew were picked up by a passing ship and the sailboat was set adrift. It floated around in the currents for5 weeks before being recovered back close to were the voyage began. After a fair bit of hassle the boat was returned to an anchorage on Rote island but then, 2 weeks later in a nasty westerly blow she was sunk on the reef. I interviewed the man who recovered her and got his side of the story.
