The Portland Japanese Garden is part of the greater Washington Park complex in Portland's west hills, minutes from downtown. The garden has been curated through its history by world-class artisans and is considered one of the finest and most authentic Japanese gardens in the world. KGW photojournalist Ken McCormick concludes his year-long series that explores the gardens through the seasons. The quiet of the garden as the plants rest until spring is when the community gathers to celebrate traditions. Presented in early 2020 this photo essay includes a presentation of the art installation honoring the bombing of Hiroshima on the 75th anniversary of the event, a bonsai exhibition and curated tea ceremony.
