CM Bhagwant Mann urges women to lead in politics, highlights empowerment steps in Punjab #BhagwantMann #Punjab #WomenEmpowerment #AAP #WomenInPolitics #ManishSisodia #IndiaPolitics #Mohali #BreakingNews #WomenLeaders Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized women’s empowerment as central to the growth of Punjab while addressing a felicitation event for grassroots women entrepreneurs in Mohali. He urged women to step into politics, stating that those who efficiently run households are equally capable of running the country. Highlighting a shift in governance, Mann noted that Punjab has witnessed the highest-ever appointments of women as Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), marking a significant move toward inclusive leadership. The Chief Minister outlined multiple initiatives by the Aam Aadmi Party government aimed at empowering women, including: • Monthly financial aid of ₹1,000–₹1,500 under welfare schemes • 33% reservation in government jobs and 50% in local bodies • Free electricity, healthcare, and ration kits • Support for Self Help Groups and women-led startups He stressed that education, economic independence, and political participation are key to real empowerment, while encouraging women to actively participate in decision-making and elections. Manish Sisodia also highlighted that recognizing grassroots women will inspire broader societal transformation and nation-building. The event honored 100 top women entrepreneurs under the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission, showcasing the growing role of women in shaping the state’s economy and governance.
