Hi there and welcome to our foam info video. We carry 45 different grades of foam but we are only offering 31 grades online. Here's what you should know about foam: Foam is identified by a 4-digit number. The first 2-numbers tell you the foam's density, like: 1.0 pound/cubic foot, 1.5 pounds, 1.8 pounds and so on. The last 2-numbers refer to a foam's compression or firmness. The higher the numbers the firmer the foam will feel. All 3 grades with a 30-pound compression, will feel the same, but the 1.8 pounds will last longer than the other two because it is heavier. In a 4 inch cushion, the 30-pound compression will feel like a medium, the 32 is a medium-firm, the 45 is a firm and the 51 is an extra firm. The higher the first 2-numbers the higher the foam's density. This means the foam will weigh more, and last longer before sagging or softening where you sit or sleep on it the most. Keep in mind, a soft, high-density foam will last longer than a firm, low-density foam. Another thing you should know is that all the grades, other than the KN51, are plastic-based polyurethane foams. They will keep their shape for 2 (point to 1530), 4 (point 1830), 6 (point EC32) and even 10 years like all our NC grades, but since they all are plastic-based foams they will start softening after 6 to 12 months of regular use. By the way, the EC stands for ECOCELL, NC is NEOCELL and KN is short for KOOSH NATURAL. Our KOOSH NATURAL is a High Resiliency foam. It is used in commercial and high-end applications. It is the heaviest, the most natural and certified pure! Also since it is a High Resiliency foam it will keep its shape longer (12 to 15 years) and not soften with use as quickly as any of the other polyurethane grades. Now you know a little bit more about foam than you did before you watched this video. Thanks for watching.
