This video features activity on New York, Susquehanna & Western's Utica NY line on October 29 & 30, 2021. On October 29th, No. 3040 is seen southbound on Utica's Schuyler Street powering its one-boxcar train. The boxcar is consigned to Oneida Warehouse, New Hartford, approximately 5 "rail" miles from the Susquehanna's Utica yard. Next, the short freight is observed running alongside New York State Routes 5, 8 & 12 (known locally as the "Arterial"). The following scenes are at the very end of what the Susquehanna calls its "New Hartford Industrial," tracks off the NYS&W's mainline and once a part of New York, Ontario & Western's Utica Division. Finally, some activity is captured at Oneida Warehouse. On Saturday morning Oct 30, a track gang can be seen working just south of Genesee Street in Utica NY. A major track rehabilitation project is underway on the line this fall, including work on the New Hartford (ex-NYO&W) and New York Mills (ex-West Shore) industrials.
