Approach and landing in Jodel Mascaret at Inis Mor (Inishmore), Aran Isles in Galway Bay off west coast of Ireland. Irish Summer tour June 2018. Harbourside tarmac strip 490m with steep up slope (ramp) landing on runway 14. The islands are served by regular commercial Islander flights out of Connemara on the mainland about 10 miles to the north. There is no on island ATC, all local operations in this area overseen by Connemara Ops, effectively either the depot or airborne communications from the Islander pilots. all very relaxed. Inis Mor is the largest island and well worth a visit, easy to get to, plenty of accommodation, good B&B within 10 minutes walk of the airfield, about 20 minutes to walk to town, campsite by the harbour, a taxi shuttle bus coincides with Islander flights. http://www.aranislands.ie/
