02.09.2022 - A57 near Neuss, Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany - Recovery of a crashed semi truck On friday morning (02.09.2022), a semi truck, loaded with cooled groceries, collided with the guardrail on the A57 near Neuss, Germany, causing the truck to spin 180 degrees and tiping over on its side. The driver (33) was severely injured and trapped in the cabin. The fire department from Neuss and from Dormagen worked long to free the driver. A fire crane an a heavy rescue truck from the cologne fire department were also ordered to the scene, but were not deployed. An ambulance took the driver to a hospital. A specialised crash investigation team (German: Verkehrsunfallaufnahmeteam / VU-Team) saved the evidence at the scene. A recovery company tiped the truck back onto its weheels and towed the tractor and the trailer away.
