57306 & 60047 on The North West Freighter - 14th July 2024

GBRF 57306 and 60047 are seen passing through Wigan North Western on the afternoon of Sunday 14th July 2024 whilst working the "North West Freighter" railtour. 57306 was a recent addition to GBRF and looked excellent in its new livery, it really suits the shape of a Class 57 (or 47 for that matter). Ex-Colas 60047 was attached at the other end of the stock and it's selection was a bit of a disappointment as it still sports the livery of its former owner rather than the smart GB livery... 57306 Opens the footage with the train racing north towards Preston with 60047 coasting through on the return a few hours later with much toneage from Driver John... The official workings were; 1Z61 Runcorn Folly Lane - Preston Docks Petrofina 1Z62 Preston Docks Petrofina - Watford Junction Special thanks to both drivers for getting into the railtour spirit and giving "tonez for de yoots", speaking of which my platform positioning on the first shot was a semi-forced hand, there were too many people wandering close to the edge so I settled for a spot half-way, I was slow panning around as until moments earlier there had been a guy lingering behind me which I didn't want in the way.
