Just outside of Truckee, CA, lies one of the most unique hikes in the Sierra Nevada. This stretch of abandoned railroad tunnels is carved directly into the granite at Donner Summit. Once part of the original Transcontinental Railroad, these tunnels now offer a surreal mix of history, graffiti art, and stunning mountain views. In this video, I take you through the first three tunnels, which provide the perfect distance for a scenic out-and-back hike with the kiddos and pup. Whether you're planning to walk the full trail or just a portion, this gives you a taste of what to expect.
