Shrub Pruning - Sarcoccoca Confusa (Christmas Box) - at the wrong time of yea

Thinning, reducing and shaping of an unmaintained sarcoccoca confusa (Christmas box) in June. This winter flowering shrub is preferably pruned directly after flowering in early spring, though doing it here and in the manner its done will not affect the flowers on what's left on the plant. After taking on this garden in June it was a job that needed addressing straight away. The plant has been left to grow large and dense without much care and has been hacked at with shears to be kept out of my client and their children's way, leaving very ugly cut stems and the whole plant just a large, messy green blob. Here I go through and shape the entire plant, thin and reduce it by a substantial amount, allowing light and air to circulate through the stems and the plant I've left. Taking out all the ugly cut stems also. Although not quite perfect, it's a much better start for the plant and it will now have the chance to fill out nicely with some new stems. The plant will still flower happily in the winter on the stems that I've left. Excuse what i'm wearing, i got dressed in the dark. Please share as i don't do any social media.
