It is a historically and culturally renowned village known for its traditional Chinese charm. The village was established in the third year of the Qian De era during the Northern Song Dynasty (965 AD), making it over a thousand years old. Qianyang Village preserves traditional buildings from five different periods: the Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republican eras. There are over 70 ancient buildings in total, including ancestral halls, ancient streets, watchtowers, covered bridges, stone bridges, and water channels. The ancient residential complex in Qianyang showcases the distinctive architectural style of the Min (Fujian) region, characterized by high walls, deep courtyards, upturned eaves, and exquisite carvings. The buildings are arranged in chronological order from northwest to southeast, representing the architectural styles of each respective era. The village currently has around 70 well-preserved and highly valuable Ming and Qing dynasty residences, with over ten from the Ming era, around 50 from the Qing era, and five from the Republican era. One notable feature on the exterior is the curved firewalls, which serve as an outstanding characteristic of these ancient residences. Inside, the main artistic treasures are the "Three Wonders of Qianyang" woodcarvings, mud sculptures, and stone carvings. These artworks hold both aesthetic and research value. In addition to the ancient residential complex, Qianyang Village also preserves a late Ming Dynasty covered bridge, seven ancient wells dating back over 800 years, a traditional Fengshui pond, and five ancient watchtowers. The entire village's architectural ensemble, along with the Fengshui pond, firewalls, and organized layout of each household, forms a clear system for fire prevention and anti-theft measures. The layout of ancient paths and canals is also orderly and rational, presenting a rare and well-preserved ancient village scene. As for Baixi Village, it is located in Shanyang Town, Gutian County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. It has been listed as one of the fourth batch of China's Traditional Villages, highlighting its significant value and importance in preserving traditional culture and heritage.
