This is a mostly improvised piece that came about from inspiration from 12 notes tuned to frequency ratios: 22:23:25:26:28:30:31:33:35:37:39:42:44. The 22:30 (11:15) is a superfourth rarely heard in Western music. It's one of my favorite intervals. I felt like exploring familiar gestures of romantic, classical, and jazz aesthetics but sent through the deforming filter of the undecimal colors. This is another example of my approach towards tuning using prime harmonic families and wrapping them around a pre-image (in this case 12edo). I call this "neji" -- near equal just intonation. This particular neji is actually not very near equal which is why it has such distinct color. It provides the befits of familiarity and freedom of transposition that a linear temperament would provide while allowing for unique harmonic colors and diverse key qualities. This deeply impacts the way the scale plays.
