YANA CAVES-UNUSUAL ROCKS IN KARNATAKA(MALAYALAM TRAVEL VIDEO)ಯಾಣyana caves.yana rocks-my different travel Yana is located in forests of Kumta ,Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state.Yana rocks is known for the unusual Karstrock formations.karst is topography formed from the dissolution ofsoluble rocks such as limestone,dolomite and gypsum.it is characterised by underground drainage systems with sinkholes and caves.it is located in the Sahyadri mountain range of the Western Ghats.Yana is far 60km from Karwar,40km from Sirsi and 31 km from Kumta.the two unique unusual rocks Bhairaveshwara shikhara,Mohini shikhara are main attraction of this place.Bhairava shikhara is 120 metres(390ft) in height,while Mohini shikhara is 90 metres(300ft) in height.a cave temple has below the Bhairava shikhara.as per mythology ,the place is associated with the legend of the demon king Bhasmasura.the king had been granted a boon by Lord Shiva that he couldturn anyone into ashes(bhasma)by placing his handover their head.he wanted to try this on Lord Shiva himself.seeking help from Lord Vishnu to stop this act.Vishnu disguised himself into Mohini,a beautiful young lady who mesmerized the demon king by her beauty and challenged him for dance.during the dance ,Mohini cleverly posed with her hand on her head.the king copied the step and ended up getting reduced to ashes.the flames sparked were so strong that it turned the surrounding limestone black.those who want to enter the cave temple below Bhairavashikhara can enter or those who do not want to enter cave temple also can enter the Bhairava shikhara without entering the temple .when return back from Bhairavashikara Thirumaleswar left the road and went out to his way to home.by then more tourist came to yana.there was a stream in my eyeswhen some one was not hurt lonely place.i spent some time there.the jungle's music ,soft breez,pure water similar to crystal,on the hand took water and drunk.all the senses can be refreshed and cooled by pumping the cold.this beauty can not mention with words.I forgot everything and dissolved in the forest.my mind and body were filled with mystifying experience...now the forest and me only.....#Yanacaves #rocks #travel#yana
