Hiking at St. Mary's Shoals Park

Baker County, FL On my way back from North Carolina, I stopped just over the Georgia border to check off another Florida county from my list. I chose to hike at Saint Mary's Shoals in Baker County. I stayed on the East side of the park to avoid ATV traffic. The St Mary's River itself made a nice destination so I created a loop that would take me to and along its shores. The river forms the border between the states of Georgia and Florida here and I found that to be kinda neat to hike by. I also came across Cedar Creek on the way. Of course my main goal was to find wildlife. The day started off fairly strong with rabbits, woodpeckers, and deer. The rest of the day I just paid attention to the little things. Like small birds, insects, and flowers. That big bird flying away toward the end is a turkey. The pond I parked by looked pretty in the morning too, but I saved it for the ending.
