Dundonian author Matthew Fitt recognised with Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books Award! We are delighted to announce that author, poet and publisher Matthew Fitt has been honoured with the 2020 Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books Award, in association with Browns Books for Students. He follows in the footsteps of Mairi Hedderwick, Vivian French and Theresa Breslin, previous winners of the award. The author or illustrator nominated for the Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books Award is an individual with an impressive backlist, a long record of engaging with their audience, and meaningful engagement with the writing community. Matthew Fitt co-founded the award-winning Itchy Coo imprint eighteen years ago with author James Robertson, with the aim to produce high quality Scots language books for young readers. In partnership with Black & White Publishing, Itchy Coo has become an established imprint within the industry and has sold almost a quarter of a million books. Their titles include Scots translations of Roald Dahl, David Walliams, Julia Donaldson and JK Rowling, helping new generations fall in love with the stories all over again. Congratulations to Matthew! A deserving winner. Find out more: https://www.scottishbooktrust.com/lea...
