Six US soldiers were killed this week in different parts of the country as their vehicles were hit. Meanwhile, in Baghdad, US patrols were also targeted on Wednesday. An Improvised Explosive Device exploded in the centre of the capital, causing damage to a US convoy. One US soldier, two Iraqi children and one Iraqi man were injured in the incident, according to US officials. The IED was placed in a disused electricity transformer.
