According to research going back roughly a decade (as of this recording, March 2025), walnuts may have benefit effects on cognitive function and may even help stave off various forms of dementia. Some resources go so far as to suppose that eating a few servings of walnuts each day may prevent Alzheimer's Disease. In this video, I summarize these findings -- including data suggesting that walnuts are potent antioxidants. Along the way, I register a few caveats and concerns (expressed by naysayers). I also give a brief explanation of the meaning of the word "antioxidant." And, as a historical footnote, I draw viewers' attention to the ancient "Doctrine of Signatures," according to which various foods regarded as medicinal were believed to physically resemble the body parts they purportedly treat.
