Manila Central Museum at Esplanade Riverside Park Manila Central Post Office Building Restoration will begin soon.It will become a new museum tourist attraction that will be connected to the Pasoig River Esplanade. THREE NEW MUSEUMS in the rehabilitated Manila Central Post Office building: 1. A postal museum on the upper ground floor; 2. A "Filipino Museum" on the second floor; and 3. A law museum on the fourth floor. There will also be DOT-DICT innovation hubs on the third floor (labeled galleries here), and retail spaces in the UGF and Mezzanine. I am SO excited to see the curation here, but hoping we get also get a gallery on the history of the Pasig River. There is no extensive exhibition on the river itself, and I think it will be great to host it in the Post Office due to the river's significance to the building's and location's history. The post office will continue to host services (sorting, storage, delivery, etc). at the lower ground floor/basement as it does today. No major external changes aside from a transparent roof shown in the render (but not included in the bidding plan design). However, there are also plans to connect the building to the annex building by the Esplanade to create a new courtyard (probably a separate phase).
