August Bank Holiday brings in our final railway visit which is none other than the hidden gem of The Chasewater Railway. The Chasewater Railway is a former colliery railway running round the shores of Chasewater in Staffordshire, England. It is now operated as a heritage railway. The line is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) in length, contained entirely within Chasewater Country Park. The route, which forms a horseshoe shape around the lake, passes through heathland, including a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and passes over a 1⁄4-mile (0.40 km) long causeway. We start off with a ride along the full length of the line from Brownhills West - Chasetown Church Street behind Neilson 0-4-0ST No. 2937 "Alfred Paget" built in 1882, before returning back to Brownhills West Station. Class 14 D9551 then takes the hopper rake up the line before we then travel back up the line behind Ruston 165 6wDM No. 313394 "Jammo". We then hop onto Class 142 Pacer 142030 as our last train ride of the day. No. 2937 then hauls their private open wagon rake back up the line towards Chasetown Church Street, before we then head for home.
