Day 36 | Leviticus 14-15 God will continue to instruct Moses and Aaron on how to cleanse the people of any kind of bodily uncleanliness. Most of this uncleanliness will come from the natural functioning of the body and not from sin per se. This is going to be a very tedious job. The burnt and sin offerings will follow for everyone who is deemed unclean. Expulsion from the presence of God and from the community accompanies the unclean until the priest declares them clean. Now it is not just what one eats that makes one unclean, but also what one discharges from their body. Lesson: No one could or can make himself clean before God. We are all like sheep gone astray. Our best acts are not enough to cleanse us. Only the blood of Christ can cleanse a soul. The Akamba song that I love goes like this Nithakame yi uathimo Itheasya aa ene nai. In Jesus, there is freedom. All praise to God. I was deserving of God's wrath. I could not cleanse myself. Wash me in that blood, and I will be completely clean.
