Sorry for the wait on this, but it's finally here! This is the finale of the NCS collaboration for now. It's a megacollab featuring all the creators that participated in the project (but also Floppy who helped merging, as well as Thomartin who drew the arcade art at 1:53). Huge thanks to all the creators who were down to make another part (or several) for this very quick, right after finishing their own solo levels for the project. Given that the song is by MDK, I was very close to inviting a creator who has done cool "classic" style levels before to make a solo, but I'm glad I landed on doing a megacollab with everyone involved, as it makes for a nice culmination of the album. Now, about the level content. Well, I made roughly half of the gameplay for this, while Grax did the other half (aside from the 3 minigames at 1:30, which were done by the respective creators). As for the visuals, every creator in the project participated more or less. I have to give a special thanks to Subwoofer and Grax who did a lot of heavy lifting there. The former carried the "classic" pixel style parts, while the latter decorated a majority of the last half (where the visuals get crazy). Grax also made many of the transitions possible after merging himself too. I'm glad he was available for this, as I don't think the vision would've been possible without him. All the previews so far only showed the pixel style parts, which was intentional. I didn't want to reveal the last half, where you essentially break out of the arcade machine that is "classic" Geometry Dash (hence the pixel style, with increasing complexity visually per "level"). This breakout happens because you game (or mash) too hard, and this is also the reason why the visuals get more and more "cooked". After breaking out, you go through the real life arcade and play various other games before making your way back into Geometry Dash in the end, only to "die" right before completing the level. Keeping this level only pixel style would've been a bit boring I think, which is why we went with this theme and progression. However, I think some pixel style was needed considering it's a MDK song, and NCS also wanted us to make this level feel like an "official" 2.2 level if possible. As for the gameplay, well, I hope it's enjoyable despite how "cooked" the visuals get in the latter half. When the level concept involves the game itself breaking, it's a tricky balance to make sure it is also readable. Still, I think Grax did a good job here. Thanks to all the extra playtesters we got too, who helped fix many issues, and Nexus for verifying! All in all, I'm pretty happy with this level for my first 2.2 megacollab (with "Astra" finally coming soon), as well as the NCS project overall. It was very hard to make it all happen given the limited time frame and some limitations in the songs, colors, and themes from NCS, but it was cool to start off Events with this! ★ Become a Member of my channel for special perks: https://www.youtube.com/viprin/join VIDEO INFORMATION Game (version): Geometry Dash (2.2) Level: "BUTTON MASHER" by Viprin, Grax, Subwoofer, Nikce, AutoNick, AudieoVisual, Knots, Whirl, Serponge, connot, Zoroa, pocke, Floppy and Thomartin ID: 115047336 Music: "BUTTON MASHER" by MDK • ♪ MDK - BUTTON MASHER ♪ LINKS Discord: / discord Twitch: / viprin Twitter: / vipringd Thumbnail by Erdyuri: / erdyuri
