PRUNING TIME In January - Wisteria

#pruning #wisteria #gardening #beginner gardening For my beautiful wisteria it is pruning time in January. This doesn't have to be done in January, you can also prune it in February but its important that you get it done so that you can get the most from your wisteria. BUT if you have a new wisteria or you are wanting to spread your growth and make it bigger then put the snips away. You might still have lots of growth on your plant which will need tying in. You can use twine to hold your stems in place. It's that growth that needs to ripen ready to hold flowers NEXT year. I am so lucky to have my three beautiful wisteria which were here when we bought our house. I think it is probably over 20 years old. Remember if you are wanting to add wisteria to your garden in 2025 but you want to have flowers THIS year then make sure you are buying an established plant which has buds on it.
