Historically, St. Louis Missouri has alway been a key city for all music. This is Jazz Music at it's finest. Rasulsiddik Siddik recently past Saturday, January 17th, 2023. I wanted to pay tribute to my amazing fam. Rasul started in St. Louis, Chicago, travelled the world and spent 20 years plus living in Paris, France. Here is a clip (video) I filmed in 2013 at Troys Jazz Lounge in St. Louis, MO. Rasul, while in town sat in with Willie Akins, Eric Slaughter (both not in this clip) Ptah Williams (keyboard), Bob Debo (bass), and Montez Coleman (drums - Died: January 14, 2022). Rasulsiddik Siddik - His own personal sound, his own melodic expression, pulsing time, creative freedom, chops, improvisation as sonar poetry, true originality, jazz as pure artistic expression ... with his deep roots in the legendary 70's Chicago scene and as a pillar of the Paris ex-patriot jazz community, Rasul Siddik embodied all that true jazz trumpet players work so hard for and aspire to achieve with that impossible instrument. A beautiful human being with a deep old soul and a big generous heart, he was always encouraging, always contributing, always blowing the essential truth and pushing the edge. We will miss you Big Brother. Go with Light ! - - Andrew Crocker
