++I say USB to TRS in the video the first time I describe the cables which is wrong - these are MIDI to TRS https://www.boss.info/uk/products/bmi... ++ The 404Mk2 is awesome but it has a limited sequencer. Some people love this and I think it has a lofi charm to it. However, sometimes you need more flexibility and control. The Deluge has a powerful visual sequencer (with an undo button!) and works well with the 404Mk2. The process is: Connect the MIDI out from the Deluge to the in of the 404 and the in of the 404 to the out of the deluge. Use MIDI-trs cables. You can create midi channels on the Deluge by creating a new clip and just pressing the midi button, but I don't think this is the best way as you're essentially programming MIDI via a chromatic keyboard and you can't rearrange the rows The better way is to do it via a kit. On the Deluge create a new kit. Hold the audition pad and press midi to make he kit track a MIDI channel Hold the row's audition pad and use the gold dials to select the midi channel and note. The channel relates to the bank on the 404 (1 = bank A) and the note relates to the pad. The bottom left pad (13) is note 36 You can then assign more rows for more pads To record notes in from the 404 hold down the 'learn/input' button on the deluge and the audition pad so it flashes pink. While you're doing this press the pad from the 404 you want (ideally the same one you've assigned via MIDI out) Now when the deluge is playing and record is on you can record 404 notes with velocity into the sequencer. Quantise recommended! Enjoy!
